A car carrying Prime Minster Boris Johnson was rear-ended by a Range Rover support vehicle after his convoy was targeted by a Kurdish protester.[1]

As Boris Johnson's car left Parliament to drive the short distance to Downing Street following the weekly session of Prime Minister's Questions, a group of protesters ran towards the car, prompting it to come to a sudden halt. A security car following the Prime Minister's vehicle then ran into the back of Johnson's car, leaving a visible dent.[2]
Johnson car then speeding off. Footage was tweeted by anti-Brexit protester Steve Bray, who was with SODEM campaigners outside parliament lobbying MPs for a Brexit extension. The demonstrator, who was protesting about Turkish action against Kurdish rebels, was pulled away aside police and detained.[3]
Reaction[]
The Metropolitan Police issued a statement, saying: "A pedestrian is reported to have stepped onto the road, causing the vehicles to suddenly stop, which has led to two of the vehicles in the convoy being involved in a damage-only collision." It added that a man "was arrested at the scene for offences under Section 5 of the Public Order Act and for obstructing the highway" and that all vehicles involved "were able to drive from the scene."[4]
The protester, Diyari Kurdi said "I can't comment too much because of the court case but I never meant to hurt anyone. I just feel very passionate about what is happening to Kurdish people. When asked if he would like to apologise to Boris Johnson and others caught up in the accident he said, 'Yes, I'm very sorry.'[5]
