John Casimir (German: Johann Kasimir) (20 April 1589 - 8 June 1652) was the Duke of Kleeburg from 1604 until 1652.

Life[]

John Casimir was born in Zweibrücken in 1589 as the youngest son of John I, Count Palatine of Zweibrücken. In 1615 he married Catherine, the daughter of King Charles IX of Sweden, in Stockholm. Through this marriage, the House of Wittelsbach would provide the kings of Sweden from 1654 until 1720.

John Casimir died in Castle Stegeborg in 1652 and was buried in the Cathedral of Strängnäs.

John Casimir married Catherine of Sweden (19 November 1584 - 23 December 1638), daughter of King Charles IX, on 21 June 1615 and had the following children:

  7. Adolph John (21 October 1629 - 24 October 1689)
  8. John Gustavus (c. 1630)
