Staurakios was emperor of the Byzantine Empire from July 26, 811 - October 2, 811 CE. He succeded his father Nikephoros I Logothetes when he died in the Battle of Pliska, where Staurakios was wounded as well. He was forced in to retirement by his brother Michael I Rangabe.
