Wolfgang William (German: Wolfgang Wilhelm) (25 October 1578 - 20 March 1653) was the Duke of Neuburg from 1614 until 1653.
Life[]
Wolfgang William was born in Neuburg in 1578 as a son of Philip Louis, Count Palatine of Neuburg. He succeeded his father in Palatinate-Neuburg after his death in 1614 and inherited his rights to Jülich-Cleves-Berg. Wolfgang William's territories suffered only minor destruction during the Thirty Years' War (1618 - 1648) through his Catholicism and his strict policy of neutrality and he managed to maintain himself in the Duchies of Jülich and Berg, and even acquired the County of Ravenstein in 1629 from Brandenburg-Prussia. From 1636 he resided almost exclusively in Düsseldorf.
Wolfgang William died in Düsseldorf in 1653 and was buried in the Church of St Andrew.

Wolfgang William married Magdalena of Bavaria (4 July 1587 - 25 September 1628), daughter of Duke William V, on 1 November 1613 and had the following children:
